A subluxated spine is like a kinked hose.

During any Report of Findings appointment, Dr. Schulte reviews the key elements of chiropractic care. But, we know that sharing something once doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be remembered.

So, we thought it would be helpful to do a quick review of the basics of Chiropractic. Here we go!

Chiropractic is a system of therapy which includes the basic philosophy that disease is the result of the abnormal function of the nervous system.

The practice of chiropractic helps maintain a patient’s health and well-being through spinal adjusting, which involves adjusting the vertebrae in the spinal column.

An adjustment is a variety of physically manipulative techniques used to correct alignment and the functions of the spine, joints, and nervous system.

Of course, adjustments are essential to optimal living because the nervous system is the network of nerve cells and nerve fibers that passes on sensations to the the brain and motor impulses to organs and muscles.

Think about a gardener watering their garden. The hose can represent the nervous system. It is what helps to deliver water to the garden. Just like water is essential to a garden, proper nerve signaling is essential to thriving health. If the hose happens to get kinked, the gardener must remove the kink in order to continue getting an adequate water supply to their garden.

This basic analogy really demonstrates how important it is to create a habit of getting regular chiropractic care so you can keep the nervous system free from blockages that would otherwise limit your health and your potential.
