Meet The Thumms Our May 2015 Patients Of The Month
Meet Jay and Anita! Our April 2015 Patients Of The Month
“LET FOOD BE THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE BE THY FOOD” Hippocrates
And it doesn’t hurt to have a great chiropractic professional on your team too!
We are Anita and Jay Clay and have had the good fortune to have found Dr. Greg Schulte in 2010. Thus our journey to wellness began even though we were unaware of what was going to happen to us along the way.
In the summer of 2012, Jay was diagnosed with benign non-essential tremors and hydro-cephalous. His condition was getting grim when shortly after, I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer from a routine colonoscopy. Already taking a prescription drug for his tremors, Jay checked into Delnor Hospital on 8/28/12 for surgery to place a shunt in his brain to relieve the pressure of spinal fluid build-up, and two days later I was admitted for a colon resection. (We always do everything together.)
Then followed a year of intense physical therapy for Jay, chemo for me, a couple of gall bladder attacks, and finally a surgery to remove my gallbladder and reverse the colostomy from my first surgery. After some recuperation time, we made our way back to Dr. Schulte. He inspired us to get on a new path to wellness via regularly scheduled adjustments, nutrition assessments, appropriate supplementation and new food plans. Dr. Schulte introduced us to clean eating and exercise through the Paleo approach and we started attending his evening informational seminars. Building on that, we recently completed Dr. Schulte’s recommended Standard Process 21 Day Detox program and the results were remarkable. Both of us lost 12 lbs and felt wonderful. But the best news was about Jay’s tremors, in both hands. They had become only minutely noticeable and he had all but quit taking his prescription medicine. Very exciting results. For us, it confirmed that quality nutrition, exercise, great medical partners and a dedicated, caring, chiropractic professional, like Dr. Greg Schulte have been a life saver for Jay and me. We are grateful, every day and intend to stay the course for our lifestyle change. We intend to enjoy our best life going forward with the understanding that we are still a work in progress.
